INTRODUCING NOVEL
Why Novel?
Novel believes that the world would be a better place if all pets were cared for, unconditionally. In order to support this vision, we employ a proprietary team-based approach to medicine that allows us to offer an exceptional patient experience at a more accessible price point.
We know the walk-in fee creates a wait-and-see approach in veterinary medicine, which is why we've replaced the exam fee with a manageable monthly membership.

We believe that exceptional veterinary care should be within everyone’s reach. Our pricing is straightforward and transparent, ensuring you know exactly what you’re paying for—no surprises, just quality care at a fair price.
We've designed our spaces to feel warm, inviting and cozy - just like a library - so that you and your pet feel as comfortable as possible throughout your stay with us.

From your first puppy or kitten visit through to compassionate, end-of-life care, Novel is by your side throughout every chapter of your pet health journey.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Our inaugural location is located at 561 Brant Street in Burlington, ON, right beside the No Frills.
What is membership-based care?
We've replaced the walk-in fee, otherwise known as the physical examination fee, with a manageable monthly membership fee. The membership fee provides exceptional value (it pays for itself if you see us more than once per year), and disperses the cost of care into smaller monthly payments.
Do I need a membership to book an appointment?
We believe our best value comes through our membership, where our team can provide proactive, ongoing support for your pet’s health at member prices. Even if you are not a member, we will always provide your pets with exemplary care and attention, at non-member prices. Our clients find that our membership pays for itself in both value and peace of mind. See our pricing page for more details!
What are your cancellation policies for monthly and annual memberships?
Our memberships are a 12-month commitment, designed to give your pet consistent, relationship-based care throughout the year. Annual Membership (paid in full upfront): If you’re on a single-pet plan and your pet passes away within the first six months, we’ll cancel your membership and refund the unused months. If the loss occurs after month six, no refund is provided. You can upgrade to add more pets at any time, but downgrades are not available mid-term. Monthly Membership (billed monthly, 12-month commitment): Our monthly membership is designed to help you pay for your annual membership in 12 payments. If your pet passes away and you’re on a single-pet plan, we’ll cancel your membership at the end of that billing month. No refunds or fee adjustments are made for downgrades.
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointments?
Absolutely! At Novel, we understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance by phone or email. This allows us to offer that time to another patient in need. We recognize that sometimes plans change unexpectedly. That's why we allow up to two late cancellations or no-shows without penalty. However, after the third occurrence, we require a deposit to schedule future appointments. This ensures we can continue providing timely care to all our patients. See our detailed policy at https://novel.vet/terms-and-conditions.
What is a team-based approach to medicine?
At Novel, our Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support wellness and minor illness appointments alongside Veterinarian oversight and support.
